There are so many variations of these trends. I always say, endless possibility excites me. Incorporating your personal fashion 'loves' into a trending look is a great way to 'catch eyes'. The "Bra Out" Trend of 2017

Throw a button down over a crop top/bralette and leave it open for the summer breeze to make its way in. I don't know about you, but I am always finding ways to stay cool in these Texas Scorchers. They get me so sizzling that I am forced to stop and take precautions.

The skirt and the booties shown are a Buffalo Exchange purchase. The belt is from the White House Black Market Fall '15 Collection. If you plan ahead, certain items in your wardrobe can last a lifetime. This go-to brown/neutral belt wasn't a planned purchase, but once in a great while you will get lucky.

         BRA OUT

Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Trends

Welcome Back!

"Fuerte de Mente" - Strong-Minded

"Fuerte de Mente" - Strong-Minded

This DIY fashion look is inspired by the SS17 trend "Statement-Making Tee"

I bought a tank top at Walmart in the men's athletic department for $2.88 and cropped the length.

I read an article this week revealing what happens behind the scenes of Walmart RTW fashion. I was deeply saddened, though not surprised. A handwritten Chinese letter was found in a ready-to-wear purse sold at Walmart, the article can be read here. I cannot say that I stand behind Walmart, based on what I know of their business ethics. Next time, I will pick up a tee elsewhere. Ethical options are available, such as Everlane, People Tree, and more. It's so easy to bite the hook of consumerism with cheap, easy, and glorified bait thrown at us 24/7. When one person takes the time to shop ethically it makes a difference. Imagine how the world could change for not one, but thousands of us if we were conscious of our consumerist habits?

I believe in honesty and transparency, so I'm telling you that shopping ethically is usually more expensive. But when you shop eco fashion, you are donating to someone else's wholeness and well-being and making the world a better place. I have seen the industry from the inside-out. People are dying spiritually, emotionally, and physically every day due to our negligence as a whole. Don't forget. Make the difference. If you need help, I'm always here: Personal Style Development Coach. If you don't have room in your clothing budget, know that a minimalist approach to fashion is extremely practical and classy.

Now, back to the DIY featured look. I use the app Over anytime I want to graphic design. I added shapes behind hand-drawn lettering, printed it on iron-on paper, ironed it on, and I now own a statement making tee! The Spanish translates to "Strong-minded". Being a strong-minded woman can be unacceptable in society. I am very opinionated, determined, and focused. Thus, my statement of choice! The most exciting part about creativity to me is endless possibility.

I threw on Vintage Levi's denim shorts which I bought at a thrift store years ago, layered a couple of necklaces, and cinched my waist with a vintage Target (c. 2006) elephant belt. I am now on trend without breaking the bank-- not even close.

My makeup here is a natural look by Anna. I always prefer real, and I am a little obsessed with honesty and transparency. Anna of 'This Beautiful Life' tells us more about this makeup look on her blog, here.

Love you all very much!

Always Here,
